when you wake up to this…

Sunrise Plaza de la Merced Malaga
We all have shit; some more than others, some way worse than others, some pretending not to have any-not sure which is more detrimental? A humbling moment today (amongst many); surrounded by architectural, historical, physical beauty and wealth, a man outside a shop on one of the most famous streets in Malaga, with a solo cup filled with coins in his mouth, shaking it up & down as he had no arms to beg with.
I share this because I walked by horrified and then unable to forget this image, this human being, this man from my mind. What can we do? How can we affect change? In ourselves, for others? Are things really that bad? Moments like this for me (and falling on my head) are a wake up call.
On a hopeful note-the spirit of the holiday season continues in Spain, giving hope, bringing families together with the Dia de Reyes-January 6th.
