The in between

Malaga to Cadiz & back 2024.

I sit here on this Sunday night, in my apartment in Malaga, overlooking the Plaza de la Merced with the window open and listening to piano concertos? De Verdad/Seriously? Just so beautiful.

I often don’t appreciate the in between? Sad, but true, wondering if any of you have ever been so focused on mierda from the past or what possibly might happen in the next 100 years (that probably won’t) that you don’t/ can’t enjoy right now?

The slide show above is of some photos from my return trip from Cadiz to Estepona (and then Malaga.). I stopped on side roads (far & few between) to take photos. None of them truly show the beauty of the Spanish countryside and how in one moment you are in perhaps the oldest city in Europe and then in the campo (countryside) with oaks, rolling hills, cows, lakes, small fincas (farms), cows?!!!. This was the in between today. In between the incredible Cadiz and the magnificent Malaga lies an entire country, journey waiting to be appreciated.

Plaza de la Merced***1st Sunday of the Month Market ***

When I returned to Malaga, I was so fortunate to find the Mercado in the Plaza!!! Mostly local artists, all of them kind- not pushy, despite the cold and end of the Navidad/Christmas/Dia del Reyes. (The most holiday most celebrated in Spain with gifts for all is Dia del Reyes (January 6th or Epiphany).

Oh no……………not me! I managed to in 30 minutes, that’s how much longer the market was open, to do considerable damage to my wallet, (like more than double) what I had previously spent. It was RIDICULOUS! I started inventing birthdays of people I could care less about to justify my purchases!

Has anyone shopped like this?
