Cordo………ba! Va!

Buenas Dias from Hotel Viento 10

Yes….Another recommendation before we get to the Day in Cordoba. Hotel Viento 10. https://hotelviento10.es/es/. Located on a peatonal (pedestrian) street, a few minutes from Mezquita and all things Cordoba, this is a very tranquil and unique place to stay.

Here are some photos from this retreat-a great option if you are visiting this city for the first time. Family renovated, owned, with incredible staff and amazing breakfast! They are adding 2 rooms, a spa, garden and pool in a few months-you heard it here 1st!

Everything, including my skin, looks better at night, but Cordoba is beautiful during the day. The Mezquita (Mosque-Cathedral)is awe inspiring. Coming from I don’t know much about religious history me, that is something.

What began in the 5th century as a Mosque with an inner courtyard of Orange Trees, continued into the 12th century as a Cathedral. One of the most amazing sites I’ve seen, so worth the trip (off the beaten cruise ship path of Spain). I would recommend a private or group tour instead of the audio guides or the self guided one I made up myself and walk around with my mouth wide open in wonder of how much love and work was spent over the centuries creating this.

A quick glimpse into Spain, Cordoba and an opportunity to smile. There were many more moments that I chose not to be a tourist with a camera… Abuelitas, mothers with their daughters and couples holding hands.

What I’ll remember forever was walking down dark narrow streets and finding families with strollers and small children walking and singing……singing entire songs-the dads also. When was the last time you heard a family singing while walking through your neighborhood after dark on a winter’s night? Cordoba; I will be back.
