As in any big city, having a dog (less so a cat-sorry cat lovers) is quite an undertaking-just imagine…mostly pavement, living in an apartment, but like Paris, New York and San Francisco they are beloved.

While I have only one photo here, I have seen more dachshunds than any other breed-yes the weiner dog! Either way the Spanish love their dogs, possibly more than anywhere else in the world as they call them Mascotas or Mascots-“a person or thing that is supposed to bring good luck, especially one linked to a particular organization or event.!”
