Boca-Mouth in Spanish
Boquerones-sardines (v. Anchoas)/Boquerones Fritos y a Vinagre
Boquerones-Nickname for Malaguenos/those that live in Malaga

Before you go all off on me about fish, fish heads, sardines, fried foods, I would like to express my deepest love of boquerones (fritos). Those that know me well expect me to order french fries when we are out to dine and I would like to consider myself, even if no one else does, a connoisseur of pomme frites. Boquerones are NEXT LEVEL. French fries with protein and more flavor. I’m conducting an official search for the best in Malaga and began the 1 de Enero 2024 with a tapas portion at Picasso.

For now 3 stars. Breading light, aoli yummy, but not hot?
Ok-day 2 and my teacher shared that boquerones is a name for Malaguenos! I had little time and a love of the aoili, returned to Picasso for my mid day snack!
But wait…something new

Flamenquin!
It’s name and origins (Little Flamenco?/Cordoba) are disputed, but the taste is not! Oh my….
Send me a message to find out what’s inside!

New favorite waiter & mi cuenta (written in chalk on the counter) in a lovely little bodega, part of La Tranca. http://www.latranca.es/
